A Lowell native, Coach Bauer is in her 5th year as Head Coach at LHS and coaches the Varsity Boys. Last year her 1st, 2nd and 3rd varsity eights silver-medaled at the spring State Championships. Prior to coaching at LHS, Campbell was a Head Coach at Brandeis University (2001-2003), and also the Head Coach of the Timilty Middle School program (1999-2003), part of G-ROW Boston - an organization geared toward bringing rowing to inner-city girls. Bauer's coaching career began in 1998 when she took on the position of girls' novice coach at Brandeis. Bauer began rowing during her junior year of high school at Phillips Academy, Andover. After making the varsity team her first season she was hooked on rowing. She went on to row for Ithaca College where she had a very successful four year career. After graduation, she coxed and rowed for Riverside Boat Club. Currently, Bauer rows the masters women's team at Essex Rowing Club. In addition to coaching, Bauer also teaches video production at Lowell High School, where she is the Lead Teacher for the Communications Academy. Will Stevens Coach Stevens begins his first year at Lowell High School after serving as the Interim Head Coach for the lightweight women at Harvard University. Prior to this, he was the girl’s varsity coach and program director at Wayland Weston crew for five years. His lightweight four took silver at the USRowing Nationals this spring, while two other boats - the open four and the lightweight eight - placed in the top 10 at nationals. All three of his eights went undefeated this past spring and won gold at the Massachusetts Public Schools State Championship Regatta. He also coached the MIT Graduate Club crew this past season.
Coach Bauer is in her fifth year coaching at Lowell High School. After coaching the novice girls for two years, she took over the varsity girls program in 2006, leading the first varsity eight to a state champion title in her first season with the team. This year, Bauer will take on an assistant coach role as she pursues her MEd from Boston College. Bauer, who hails from Easley, South Carolina, began her rowing career at Brandeis University. Upon gradadution in 2002, she began teaching at Lawrence High School. Currently, Bauer teaches English Language Arts at Lowell High School. Erin Loughran A Lowell native, Coach Loughran is in her second year of working with the varsity girls. A former rower for Lowell High School, she currently teaches there as well. She is a 2006 graduate at Stonehill College, and currently is pursuing a masters degree at UMass Lowell.
Coach Walters is entering his fourth year with the team, and currently oversees the novice teams. He is a 2005 graduate of Lowell High School and currently attends UMass/Lowell, where he rows for the varsity men's team.
Killian McAnaney Coach McAnaney is in his second year of coaching the novice girls at Lowell High School. He begin his rowing career at the University of Rhode Island. In addition to coaching, he teaches at the Molloy Alternative School in Lowell. Ron Hernandez Coach Hernandez is entering his second year of working with the novice boys squad. He begin his rowing career at Malden High School. |
